Wildfire Credit Union Awards Six Classroom Cash Winners
News Release Date: Nov 10, 2020
Saginaw, MI - Wildfire Credit Union recently launched a back to school Classroom Cash social media promotion on Facebook. Facebook followers were asked to nominate teachers for a chance to win one of three - $1,000 Wildfire Visa gift cards to help with this year’s school expenses. Over 160 classroom nominations were received. The competition was narrowed down to six finalists and Facebook followers were again asked to vote for their favorite teacher and over 2,900 votes were cast.
The $1,000 Visa gift card winners were teachers from Meridian Elementary, Meridian Early College, and Bush Elementary in Essexville. Because all six classrooms were so worthy, Wildfire made the decision to award the other three finalists with a $500 Visa gift card. Those winners were teachers from Arthur Hill High School, North Saginaw Charter Academy, and Bangor Lincoln Elementary.
“Going into the new school year, we recognized that teachers would be facing new and additional challenges, and we wanted to help in some way to cover some of the expenses associated with in-class or remote teaching," said Tim Benecke, President and CEO of Wildfire Credit Union. "This was our first time for Classroom Cash, and we were very pleased by the success. Wildfire is dedicated to the communities we serve and were happy to be able to help out these dedicated teachers.”
