Job Description
- Provides a variety of paying and receiving functions for members in person including, but not limited to, processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashiers' checks, money orders and travelers checks.
- Balances each day's transactions and verifies cash totals.
- Performs a broad variety of member services functions such as opening and closing accounts, renewing certificates, and assisting members with bookkeeping and checking account problems.
- Answers members questions regarding Credit Union services provided and performs a variety of account maintenance duties.
- Actively cross-sells Credit Union services.
- Performs specific assigned side-jobs and assists other Tellers with duties as required.
- Serves members promptly and professionally with confidentiality.
- This position requires excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Efficiency and accuracy are vital for the successful execution of this position.
- Excellent telephone, communication, and public relations abilities are also necessary.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of Teller operations and procedures.
- Basic Understanding of financial institution operations.
- Understanding of Credit Union philosophy.
- Knowledge of basic accounting concepts.
Experience Required
- Three to five years prior experience helpful, particularly in a financial institution setting.
- Completed Teller Cash training.
- Symitar/Episys experience is preferred.
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent.
