Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, professional leader to join our team as a Mortgage Manager. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of mortgage loan products and guidelines for both originating and servicing mortgage loans. Understanding of government regulations and legal requirements involving mortgage lending and related functions is required. In addition, the person in this role is required to have strong leadership and supervisory skills, strong communication abilities, excellent organization and project management skills, and a high level of professionalism and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Mortgage Department.
  • Oversees the extension of credit for home loans and related underwriting, processing, closing, renewing, shipping, funding, and secondary market functions.
  • Assist Mortgage Product Administration and Quality Control Manager to ensure that such lending operations are in accordance with established policies, procedures, and legal requirements, and result in maximum volume, appropriate profit, and minimum delinquency ratios.
  • Coordinates and oversees loan and promotional activities and ensures that all subordinate areas of responsibility support Credit Union objectives and goals.
  • Trains, directs, and appraises assigned personnel.
  • Ensures that services are delivered professionally and efficiently, and that member problems are resolved promptly.

Required Knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage loan products and guidelines for both originating and servicing mortgage loans.
  • Understanding of government regulations and legal requirements involving mortgage lending and related functions.

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or related field or an equivalent combination of formal training and experience.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in mortgage lending.
  • At least 3 years in an administrative or supervisory role.
  • At least 3 years of mortgage sales management experience.
  • Experience handling problem loans and loan workouts is ideal.
