Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Mortgage Processor to join our team at Wildfire Credit Union in Saginaw, Michigan. In this role, you are responsible for providing support for all mortgage loan activities.  This position receives and completes initial processing of mortgage loan applications, and obtains and reviews required documentation, prepares files for underwriting, and assists or refers members as necessary.

Responsibilities

Provides effective support for all phases of mortgage loan activities in accordance with established policies and procedures, including:

  • Loan application processing
  • Member, realtor and other third-party communication
  • Regulatory and policy compliance
  • Pipeline management
  • Member services and team support
  • Establishes and maintains professional business relationships with members and external contacts.
  • Establishes and maintains effective coordination and communication with Credit Union personnel and with management.

Required Knowledge

  • Understanding of mortgage loan products and services.
  • Knowledge of mortgage loan processing function related requirements and procedures.

Education/Certification

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience Required

  • One to three years of related mortgage processing experience preferred.
  • One to three years of related mortgage lending experience required.

Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and manage work independently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service focused with a proactive approach to members needs.
  • Able to operate related computer applications and business equipment.
